Over the last TWO years when be bought a used 2010 Equinox LTX, we have had problems with the defroster/heat system in cold weather when switched from passanger heat to Defrost or floor/defrost we had to set the thermostat at 78 degreese or higher or cold air woould come the the vents. When the out side air was 40 or lower that would be the inside air from the vents. After 5 different visits and getting the same answer "we could find no problem" So I had the service manager and a mechanic set in the car while I showed them the problem. later the service manager said he checked a NEW 2012 and 2 customers cars and found the same thing. He told me he would contact GM Technictions to get an answer. Over a month with no answer I called back, they asked for me to bring the car in when it got cold, They did loan me New Silverado that was hard for my wife to get in. The next day when I checked back I was told to come get my car! I was then told that I could just turn the tempeture up to 78 or 80 that was how it was susposed to work,,, But by looking up problems with Equinox on the WEB I discovered a RECALL notice from Dec. 2009 stating that 5900+ Equinox LTZ and GMC Terrain, that driving with defective defrosting and defogging did not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safty Standard No. 103 or Motor Vehicle Safty Standard No. 101.. So I guess my 2010 has a different problem.. Four cars from AWARD Chevrolet in Crestview, Never again..
