- Mechanical Protection Plan (MPP) SCAM - - Michael Henderson - 1/11/2016 - comment
I purchased my vehicle in 04/2015 and found out that the $3,000 MPP plan that I was talked into purchasing was cancelled by Camelback Volkswagen by someone with the initials of "TC". A refund check was sent to the dealership in 09/2015 for $3,080.00. Myself nor my finance company, Volkswagen Finance, was made aware of any such cancellation. I have called four times today, 01/11/2016, and attempted to speak with the Director of Finance or the owner, but each time their service department or their receptionist transferred me to 'Finance', someone would pick up the phone, I'd hear them breathing or talking and then they would immediately hang up on me. I am demanding that this $3,080 be issued to me via a check from CAMELBACK VOLKSWAGEN so that I may apply it to my car payments and send it to Volkswagen Finance. I am going to contact my lawyer this afternoon as this was never communicated to me and this has to be illegal especially if they received a refund a did not let myself or the finance company know about it. Was someone there cancelling MPP plans after the financing went through and keeping it for themselves? This sounds very suspect. I am currently on hold with Volkswagen of America so I can file a formal complaint with them in regards to this dealership's practices. This is extremely troubling and I hope people think twice before doing business with this specific dealership if this is how they operate.
