Amid the Covid-19 pandemic a no-contact sales was a big announcement to continue to remain open. It seems that was just a suggestion instead of a health safety concern taken seriously by the Luther Organization. As per the governors ordinance, car sales unless providing for a critical sector, was not considered essential. Once restrictions began to lift it was business as usual. I saw only one salesman wearing a mask inside the showroom and that was the salesman I chose to do business with, his name is Jerry Johnson. I have two high risk children and needed to keep my interactions mostly outside to lower any risk. Inside the dealership, there were multiple people standing in groups and no visible PPE or instructions posted for safety. Jerry had his own supplies and showed me that he had disinfected all surfaces, even pens which he said I could keep telling me "this is your pen now, you keep that for anything you need to sign so you don't have to worry" I just heard that Luther Toyota has had an outbreak among it's employee's. After seeing the practices at North Country Ford, or lack thereof, this does not surprise me. If employee's at North Country Ford escape being infected, I would be surprised. Jerry mentioned his wife has some medical issues, too. I hope for his sake and his family that the cavalier attitude toward a global pandemic doesn't end badly for him. It would be a terrible outcome for someone who practices safety for others while others do not practice safety for him.
