Following a tractor trailer accident involving 4 semi's on I-95 Boltons was called to 'tow' all 4 vehicles.My bill is $18,000.The government gives them free reign as 'tow charges' are unregulated in Kentucky. State law says the owner of the vehicle is to be notified before towing as long as there is no fatalities,hazmat and/or the vehicle isnt obstructing the roadway and ours was not.Police failed to notify me but my driver called within mins of the wreck and we sent OUR tow truck to the scene.When we arrived the truck was gone and the police dept had to track it down.I was told I couldn't get any paperwork from police yet,slapped with a mind blowing tow bill and was told I was not allowed to retrieve the tag or the personal effects belonging to my driver.(like most single truckers everything he owned was in that truck)Hoping to at least deliver the freight I offered to bring and drop and empty trailer.Not a chance.These people were rude and uncooperative from the start.It seems the are in bed with the local police because they agreed that Boltons was breaking several laws and what they were doing is illegal however and I quote, 'Mam,It's a civil matter and we can't help you.You will need to file a civil suit against them.'WOW...Oh yeah, the truck was leased and the actual owner is an 82 year old man who taught his daughter to drive in that truck.It is a 94 kenworth so I'm sure its not worth the hassle but the old man wants it back.I certainly hope the greedy criminals at Bolton Towing are happy with themselves
