I recently took my vehicle here for a cooling problem. I left it with them and was told it was eighty dollars for the diagnostics.The service writer told me they would have the diag done by the end of the day. It took three days to do the pressure test and to find out the radiator was leaking. I told them to replace the radiator and they said the part was special order. I didnt get my car back for 10 days and on top of that the bill was over 700.00. After picking it up the car overheated after driving less than 5 miles so I had it towed back to LBJ at my expense. They told me they needed to let it cool down overnight and do another pressure test. The next day the owner Chris Jarvis called me and told me that my water pump was now leaking and I would have to replace the water pump and timing belt. The estimate was 1300.00. I asked him why they did not catch this after replacing the radiator and he said they must have forgot to pressure test it but they test drove it twice and it was fine before I picked it up. I told him that was hard to believe since I didn't even make it 5 miles without the car overheating. He said there was nothing he could do except replace the failed parts which were again "special order". I told him that I was going to have it towed to another shop for a second opinion. He then informed me that I would have to pay a charge for a second cooling system pressure test before they would release my car. I paid them again and towed the car to Diehl Automotive and told them what happened. They pulled the car in while I was waiting and 10 mins later they showed me that it was leaking from a hose clamp. So the mechanic tightened it and didn't charge me a dime.Out of curiosity I asked how much he would have charged me to replace the radiator and he quoted me 400.00. I will never go to LBJ again, they are out to rip off anyone so watch out and do not give them your buisness. I will be taking my car to Diehl automotive from now on.
