After I took my son to pick up vehicle, we noticed the paperwork pep boys gave us had been tampered with. The receipt that was stapled on had been removed. And the paper my son signed was no longer there. Funny how the manager told my son over and over again on the phone to check his paperwork. My son told him the diagnostic test on the engine that he paid $60.00 for said engine was fine. Joe said you didn't have that done, which wasn't true. It was in my sons glovebox. New papers were in glove box, missing the one with my sons signature, the one showing the diagnostic test. Shady people. In the store, in front of other people, the manager was soooooo understanding. Outside he was an ass. DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!! If the engine needed to be replaced as they said today why did they have my son waste money fixing the cooling system, that was never fixed in the first place??? My son wouldn't have wasted what little money he has IF they TOLD him this on the first day!!! My son was very patient. He took that car back 5 times. Each time they said they found the problem. Then today he was told its the engine. And its not cost effective for us to fix it. I think they would take money from anyone whether they fix the problem or not. Then they WILL NOT stand behind their crappy work.

This pep boys took total advantage of my handicap son. My sons car was overheating, They told him his car had a problem with the cooling system. They charged him over $1,300.00 for repairs. Since repairs my son has returned the car 5 times because its still overheating. On the first visit my son paid for a test on engine which stated nothing was wrong with the engine. This last visit the mechanic called and told my son that the head was cracked, and that they would fix it at no charge. Since they missed the real problem. Then the manager called my son and said it wasn't cost effective to fix the car because it has 160 thousand miles on it. Maybe not to them, but this is the only vehicle my son has. He's on a fixed income and cannot afford another car. Pep boys are in the wrong. And hurting someone that had faith in them. They took his money but never fixed the problem. The least they could do since they don't stand behind their work is give my son his money back so he can go somewhere else to get it fixed. I will make sure I do everything in my power to make sure everybody knows how lousy pep boys is. Dishonest people who can't be trusted. A good business would stand behind their word and their work. Stay away from all pep boys. Over priced and not to be trusted. My family used pep boys for a lot of work. Never again.
